Along the way they learn Mr. Edwards know that then helps them build their new house. As the area is, however, attributed the Indians as reserve, the Ingalls have to move on. There they verschlägt to Plum Creek, where the actual plot of the series begins.    Plum Creek near the small town of Walnut Grove, Minnesota, the Ingalls buy a small run-down farm and build there a life on. Both family patriarch Charles and his wife and children first have to get used to living in Walnut Grove.    Main characters of Little House    Charles Ingalls (Michael Landon) works part-time as a farmer and part-time for Lars Hanson in the sawmill. He is a helpful and God-fearing man and a hiibgebungsvoller father. Through its openness Charles is quickly gaining a lot of friends in Walnut Grove.    Caroline Ingalls (Karen Grassle) is Charles' wife and mother of Laura, Mary, Carrie and Grace. Earlier Caroline has worked as a teacher. When the family moved to Walnut Grove, she looks after the children and the household.    Mary Ingalls (Melissa Sue Anderson) is the eldest daughter of Ingalls. In contrast to the timid Laura Mary is bright and a real tomboy. At school she is often unfocused, her free time she spends outside.    Carrie Ingalls (Lindsay Greenbush and Sidney Greenbush) is the youngest daughter of Ingalls. When the family moves, Carrie is still a toddler.    Nels and Harriet Oleson (Richard Bull and Scottie MacGregor) are the parents of Nellie and Willie. Together they run a small general store. Harriet is often hysterical and derogatory towards other people while Nels is good-natured and but can not prevail against his domineering wife.    Nellie Oleson (Alison Arngrim) takes after her mother. She is a spoiled girl that often boasts of the wealth of their parents, especially in front of the Ingalls daughters.    Willie Oleson (Jonathan Gilbert) is Nellie's little brother. As well as he's cheeky and warped. When the Ingalls move to Walnut Grove, he is happy that his sister has found someone new to pick on.
